Breakfast for Everybody by Lena Mattsson 1997

Lena Mattsson's Breakfast for Everybody is a paraphrase on Manet's Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe. Lena Mattsson did a performance every day during the exhibition period. The work can be seen as a critical discussion of gender. In the video installation Breakfast for Everybody Lena Mattsson reverses the gender roles in Manet’s original painting, transforming the painting into a contemporary metaphor on the gender debate.
